Inarc Design Hong Kong Limited won an international competition to provide the Interiors for a phased renovation of the existing 8,000sm Clubhouse including the signature Derby Restaurant and Bar, library and mahjong rooms; the Chater ballroom and function rooms; large male and female change rooms; the coffee shop, food court and support kitchens; and the indoor and outdoor swimming pool areas. Inarc Design undertook extensive studies with the management to firstly, develop an agreed master plan for the whole Clubhouse and secondly, to create unique, quality interior settings for a diverse range of activities.
For the Derby Restaurant and Bar, a unique design solution was created by providing special spaces throughout the facility including the entry vestibule echoing the brick wall patterns in old stables for natural ventilation, the horseshoe bar clad with gold onyx, a lounge area with a special acoustic timber feature wall and a large spiral staircase framed by waterfalls leading to the intimate dining areas. In 2011, additional horse racing artwork and associated lighting were added to the restaurant to enhance the special event name of the restaurant and bar_the annual Derby Cup Race in Hong Kong.
At the International Property Awards 2012-2013_Asia Pacific Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 27 April 2012, Inarc Design Hong Kong Limited won the Best Leisure Interior Awards (5-Star)_Hong Kong for this project.
