Description | The Interiors of two (2) restaurants : the “Ji Xiang Yuan” 260 sm noodle restaurant and the “Treasure Palace” 1,861 sm Cantonese restaurant |
Completion | April 2010 |
Inarc Design Hong Kong Limited was commissioned to provide the Interiors for two Chinese restaurants : the “Ji Xiang Yuan” 260 sm noodle restaurant with 94 seats including reception, open dining seating, booth dining seating and toilets; and the “Treasure Palace” 1861 sm Cantonese restaurant with 350 seats over two floors including reception, show kitchen area, open dining seating, private dining rooms each with toilet and pantry, new kitchen, toilets, staff facilities and glass lift.
For the “Ji Xiang Yuan” restaurant, the design theme was based on a traditional Chinese country style restaurant. This was achieved by creating a courtyard style environment with a central water fountain and selecting materials that echo this mood including brick wall tiles, timber ceiling beams, traditional Chinese moon gates, tea-pot displays, timber flooring, traditional chair and table styles and colourful glass patterns in the shop front design. For the “Treasure Palace” Cantonese restaurant, the design theme was based on a Chinese watergarden landscape. This was achieved by designing spaces and selecting materials that echo this mood including a patterned charcoal grey stone for the murky water, fluted timber cladding to the tall columns for the stems of water lilies, circular recessed ceiling patterns and circular carpet patterns for the water lilies, colourful red, gold and white lighting sculptures for the fish, textured wall tiles on either side of the main stair for fish scales and vertical timber latticework for bamboo moving in the gentle breezes.
