Inarc Design Hong Kong Limited was commissioned to initially undertake its Strategic Facility Planning Service to provide a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the current and future accommodation requirements of its existing offices at Hutchison House, various administrative operations at Hung Hom and technical facilities at Clearwater Bay. This detailed information, which determined the scope of work for the interior design of this project, included an in-depth analysis of current and projected staffing levels, workstation sizes and configurations, support facilities and storage requirements and from this data, the projected net useable area was calculated for the new facility.
The Client, a pre-eminent television broadcaster in Asia, re-organised and relocated their rapidly expanding operations from several buildings into a new facility containing 10 floors of one building equating to 25,000 square metres of space. The Client’s brief required that the design of the new facility should not only reflect the industry image but also retain an overall professional corporate appearance. The project also included two presentation studios which involved floor slab penetrations to create the two storey heights necessary for production requirements. In addition, the technical department included on-line and off-line editing suites and audio studios required for the production and distribution of television programmes.
