Inarc Design Hong Kong Limited was commissioned to provide the Interiors for a two-phased renovation programme for five new venues totalling 2,318 sm within the existing 38,000 sm Clubhouse. These venues included the following: A_a 450 sm, restaurant venue called ‘The Library’; B_a 284 sm evening lounge venue call the ‘Derby Lounge’; C_a 316 sm entertainment venue called ‘The Melody Lounge’; D_a 1,088 sm private dining venue called ‘The Capital’; and, E_a 180 sm retail venue called the ‘Levade’.
As this venue is located in a basement floor, the main entrance to ‘The Library’ is highlighted by a bold design feature of concentric back-lit portal frames. Members are drawn through this main entry portal into the reception area and greeted by the receptionist before being escorted into either the formal dining area, the casual lounge area or the private dining rooms. Members in each of these areas can then access the common buffet counters located at one corner of this venue or enjoy the optional ‘a-la-carte’ service for breakfast, lunch or dinner. As the existing space was a large and irregular shape, intimate dining spaces were created by using a modern interpretation of traditional Chinese lattice screens infilled with translucent patterned glass together with timber framed opened book shelves for the display of a range of books and sculptural accessories.
